Wears a subway t-shirt.

bonus points if he actually uses that subway as his primary mode of transportation.

double bonus points if he ONLY uses that subway and goes out of his way to do so.

minus points if he doesn’t live in the city but still religously wears the t-shirt (exception if he used to live in the city)

super negative points if for whatever reason he wears the shirt from a subway system that is so screwed up that all the subways all have to go down the SAME STREET at some point in their trips so it’s more like a series of buses that all run underground and one at a time, and often get held up because then they go above ground and have to stop at lights and stop signs, so you might as well walk.

infinite points if he has one for the NYC “L” train to which he’s added the caption: “last train to vassar”.

well, since i don’t get to WFH anymore on fridays (mostly due to a slow home internet connection), i’ve decided to start something else for a friday blog series. long ago, Eric Schinfeld and I used to write “that guy” series for Rivet Magazine. after i quit Rivet, Eric kept it up. But i always felt like i had something to add to the “that guy” series, that my work was perchance not finished. so i’m going to start it up again on the blog. here we go:

That guy #3478: somehow thinks it’s funny to read his wedding vows in his Christopher Walken voice. Bonus points if it’s better than Jay Mohr’s Walken voice. negative points if he goes into the whole “star wars audition” routine.
