living alone

I am living alone for the first time in maybe 5 years, assuming you count my 1-2 year LES 2BR apt as living alone, which for all intents and purposes, it was. so, how’s that going?

good things:

1. i can come home late, turn on the lights, watch TV and not worry about bothering anyone
2. for some reason i am being pretty clean, though that is probably also new apartment stuff which will fade in time
3. music on all the time! my apt is a non-stop dance party!

bad things:

1. it’s a little lonely. i miss waking up and having someone to at least say “hi” to.
2. i should have sprung for a 1BR. a studio is small. i wake up and see my entire apartment.
3. no one is going to tell me that i shouldn’t keep music gear in the kitchen cabinets. (this could also be considered a plus!)

also, i’m waking up really early, but i’m sure this is because my apt is noisy and i’ve been leaving the windows open at night, so i wake up at 6AM when the buses and trucks start going by.
