Voltron

I really liked Voltron as a kid. so i’m very excited about this. assuming that they’re doing the lion voltron, and not the one where there were like a billion little vehicles that all managed somehow to form voltron. though that one was definitely more flexible, since any of the 3 team leaders could form the head. there was one episode where a few of the little ships got destroyed (or whatever passes for that in children’s cartoon land) so they switched around and formed a voltron with no left leg. but they were in space, so only having one leg didn’t seem to matter so much. either way, i’m seeing this movie

grrr… we can’t BUY a win. another 7-6 loss, running our regular season record to 1-9. and that’s it. playoffs start next week, we’ll go in as the 20-22 seed out of 23. we played great again. i went 0-3 but tatooed a ball that their SS got to somehow. oh well. playoffs baby, playoffs.

you know i love gear. this is a new portable recorder similar to the erdirol R1, but with usb 2.0 connectivity and phantom power. i would be all about this at $250. at $500 i’m not sure i really really need it.

V for Vendetta

The V for Vendetta trailer is here. i had forgotten they were making this movie. looks pretty good. i hope they don’t pull punches, given what’s been going on in this country lately.

gah. late night. too much whiskey. the performance at the noise festival at the ontological theater last night was ok, exepct for warslut, who had some great visual ideas but totally wasn’t my kind of music. and then i was out till 4AM, and but for the grace of good ideas almost out till 9AM watching episodes of lost…

oh, no summer frisbee league. booooo.

the frustrating thing about trying to organize musicians, espeically musicians who have given up on music as a possible career is that they’re incredibly hard to pin down to anything. no one wants to make a commitment that could possibly conflict with anything else, and people have a tendency to put pretty much everything else in front of jamming. and i understand that. it’s just frustrating to be the one trying to organize.

bad morning. i wasn’t “late” to work per se, but i blew my 10:30 webEx conference call by 20 minutes, and now i’ve been on this call for an hour and still have NO IDEA what this project is or what i’m supposed to be doing on it. supposedly i’m doing “visualization” for some sort of database application, but if i know my company, they’ll eventually bring a “real” designer to do any interesting work. and i’m sick. and my foot hurts.

sigh. we get closer and closer, but we just can’t pull it out. tonight El D lost a game 5-4, allowing the winning run to score in the bottom of the 6th, and then failing to score in the top of the 7th. i went a pitiful 0 for 3, grounding out to the pitcher twice and popping out once. I also botched the first ball I saw at 1B. so not a great night for me, or the team. we’re just so close to pulling it together. i hope it happens by the time playoffs roll around (the week after next)
